I'll spread the word bird about the bone marrow drive.
Tons of people read this and will be ready to attend. Yay!

I'll search in the nooks and crannies, under rocks, etc. for the rest of the world to be there.

My quote to attract people is,

"Come to the bone marrow drive:
JOHNSONBURG FIRE HALL
TUESDAY, AUGUST 11
4 to 8 p.m.
It's so easy a cave man can do it!"

oooo....

If you are lucky enough to donate bone marrow, it is not painful.
Once the doctors confirm you are a good match for the patient, you will recieve one shot a day to help bring the stem cells from your bone marrow into your bloodsteam. These stem cells will then be collected from your bloodstream. Blood will be taken from one arm, filtered through a machine which extracts the stem cells, and then the blood is returned through the other arm.

easy peasy!

Danielle - Thanks for explaining the painless process.

I was really glad to see this explained. I thought this was alot more painful. I went to the website and was doing some reading up on it, but apparently I wouldn't be able to register as I had a bulging disc last year. :-(

Wow...It's amazing how things change in 16 years. When my dad had his transplant they removed it from the other person's hip. They were numbed but still really sore for the next few days. Count me in! I might still be in the registry from back then but I can try. :)
