Par for the Course

Just like the doctor predicted, Jeff ended up back in the hospital because of a fever. He was admitted Monday night, and because he was still running a temp this afternoon, he'll be there through tomorrow (at a minimum). They've been pumping him with various antibiotics through his central line, and culturing his blood to see which one he needs next. His counts were finally low enough yesterday to necessitate a blood transfusion, which apparently does wonders for him, and he woke up feeling pretty well today (although still mildly feverish). I think Jeff enjoys receiving blood almost as much as he likes drinking beer.

Today was day +13 of his second round of chemo, so the docs came around to tap into his hip bone for more marrow. We'll know tomorrow or Friday what the next step will be.

Hi Jeff & Jamie,
Just sent a card out today.
You are both in our thoughts daily. I was looking at the shower invitation and it indicated that you were posting updates on your blog. I am so glad for that. We can keep up on what is happening. We usually talk to Wally to get updates.
Please remember the saying when things get rough - "AND THIS TOO SHALL PASS". There will come a time in the future when you will be healthy again and very happy with your little baby.
Please let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do back here at home for you.
Take care and we love you both.

Hey Jamie
There are no words to say what I feel every time I read or hear an update. Just know that Dan and I think of you and Jeff (and that little baby) every day. We are always here for anything from any help you might need, to any shopping you need done, to just a ear to listen (day or night). We aren't that far away, I'm from Burg we have to drive for anything! Just know that we love all 3 of you and wish you all well. Hope to see you soon-- mostly to pass along the hug for you and Jeff...Love
Steph

In my conversation yesterday with Jeff we talked and laughed. The best part of the conversation was when Jeff let the F word slip in a nice way like I have heard maybe once or twice before. It has been awhile. I told a few people that and they all smiled. - they all said he must be feeling good today, so please everyone smile.

Please don't ban me from the blog.
Take care, Ron
